Some properties just need the right finishing touch to go from scattered and overgrown-looking to clean and intentional. That was exactly the situation here. The beds around this home were spread across a large area - front foundation plantings, a wide open woodland floor section, and side beds wrapping around the house. A lot of ground to cover, and the kind of job where the mulch choice really matters.

We went with walnut brown mulch for this one. It's a rich, dark color that holds up well and contrasts nicely against the green of established plants and tree canopy. On a wooded property like this, it gives the whole landscape a grounded, pulled-together look that lighter or reddish mulches just don't deliver the same way.

The scale of this install is worth noting. We're not talking about a couple of small beds here - the mulched area wraps around a significant portion of the property, including a large open woodland-style space tucked behind the home. Getting consistent coverage across terrain like that, especially with mature trees throughout, takes planning and the right equipment. That's where a skid steer and a dump trailer come into play - it's the only practical way to move that much material efficiently without tearing up what's already there.

Beyond the looks, a mulch job like this actually does real work. It suppresses weed growth across all those beds, helps soil hold moisture as temperatures climb, and gives the landscape beds a defined edge that makes the whole yard feel more intentional. For a property that gets guests or sits on a wooded lot where things can look wild fast, that matters. Our seasonal property care work is about more than aesthetics - it's about keeping the landscape manageable long-term.

End result is a property that looks sharp, well-maintained, and ready for the season. Clean beds, consistent color throughout, and a backyard space that actually feels like it belongs to the house instead of the woods around it.
